Coreboot is an extended firmware platform that delivers a lightning fast and secure boot experience on modern computers and embedded systems.
Introduction to coreboot ecosystem and the obstacles industry puts on our wishes of a true computer ownership that starts from open firmware. We will have a quick view of the various projects under the coreboot umbrella and how these have evolved in last 15 or so years. We shall cover topics around securing firmware, review and validation process of coreboot source and the goal of leaving minimal attack surfaces behind (keep-it-simple stupid).
Kyösti is a coreboot enthusiast and has been a developer since 2010, with main interests on low-level debugging tools and reverse-engineering on x86.
